To anyone who is contemplating rescuing a dog or cat I say, if you can afford it and if you are prepared to spend that animal's lifetime caring for it and providing for it with all your heart, then you must do it. To not do it would be to deny yourself the true joy we have felt for the past sixteen years from just one animal. Yes, there is much sadness now. And I can't tell you when the sadness will give way to happy memories, but I can tell you that I know it will happen. It has happened with all of the animals we have lost over the years. And each one of them has brought some new joy into our lives. So thank you Save-A-Pet and thank you Laural Pierce for that crazy request sixteen years ago. And thank you "Shelby" from Shelby. I only hope we gave you some small measure of the joy you brought into our lives. We love you old girl and we miss you so much.
