Tim and I spent hours sitting next to Shelby in the barn, just talking to her and telling her what a good momma she was. We'd feed her treats and pet her. It was more than a week before she wouldn't flinch at our touch. Often I'd go out to the barn and find Tim in the stall alone with her, just sitting next to her and petting her. She was slowly starting to trust him. She loved the attention, and she was very proud of her puppies. She would let us hold them, although she would never take her eyes off the one in our hand.
